The database starts in 1986 and covers 4B+ WHOIS records across 916.1M+ tracked domains. Coverage is densest from the early 2000s onward; pre-2000 records exist mostly for older .com, .net, and .org domains.
Which TLDs are supported?

What does a historical WHOIS record contain?
Each snapshot returns parsed fields: registrant name, organization, email, phone, postal address (where not redacted), administrative & technical contacts, registrar name & IANA ID, nameserver configuration at the time of the snapshot, domain creation, last updated, and expiration dates, status flags such as clientTransferProhibited and the date the snapshot was collected. Pre-2018 snapshots usually contain full contact details. Post-GDPR snapshots may show "REDACTED FOR PRIVACY" in personal fields, depending on the registrar.
